Julian Green has played his last match for Bayern Munich. It was announced on Wednesday that the 21-year-old German-American has made the permanent move from the Bundesliga champions to second-division side VfB Stuttgart.
New challenge! After great years at @FCBayern, I'm really looking forward to the new club, the teammates and the city @VfB #jg37 pic.twitter.com/64FjgB53CU

Green has signed a 2 1⁄2 year deal with Stuttgart that will keep him at the club through the 2018-19 season.
During Green’s six years at Bayern Munich, he never appeared in a single Bundesliga match for the perennial powerhouse. Despite that, he did win a spot in Jurgen Klinsmann’s roster for the 2014 FIFA World Cup where he scored his first international goal in a Round of 16 loss to Belgium.
A failed loan stint to Hamburg in 2014-15 saw him come back to Bayern and get put in the reserves. After he made it clear that he couldn’t waste another season in the fourth-division he would given a spot in the club’s first team by new manager Carlo Ancelotti. Unfortunately, a few cup matches would all he would be able to get into and now he leaves with hope for playing time.
Stuttgart are current third in the 2. Bundesliga table, just two points off of leaders Eintracht Braunschweig.
