Bobby Wood has scored just 30 minutes into his Hamburg career. In his first ever Bundesliga match, the U.S. international bullied off a defender with his strength and fired a low and hard finish to the near post to beat the Ingolstadt goalkeeper.

Bobby Wood set a record for goals scored by an American in top two divisions in Germany last season. He’s picked up right where he left off with a goal just 30 minutes into his season.
This is exactly what USMNT fans needed to see after it was revealed on Friday that Clint Dempsey would miss the upcoming World Cup qualifiers with an irregular heartbeat.
The U.S. will need a striker to step up and carry the load in these very important qualifiers against St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Trinidad and Tobago. Both Wood and Jozy Altidore appear to be in fine form heading into next week’s camp.
