Happy America day, Americaland! Today, 'Merrica takes on Russia. Do you remember the Cold War? Probably not, I think the average age of our readership is 12. Anyway, watch Rocky IV and then get really pumped up for this game. Today, your United States men's national team is fighting for freedom and democracy. And I guess capitalism too.
Josh Gatt is starting his first USMNT match, because he's awesome. We don't actually know the formation of this lineup (a 4-3-3 would make just as much sense as what we have listed), but this is our best guess. As always, we'll have to wait until kickoff to see, because we just don't know.
United States starting lineup (4-4-2): Tim Howard; Fabian Johnson, Carlos Bocanegra, Geoff Cameron, Timothy Chandler; Danny Williams, Michael Bradley, Jermaine Jones, Joshua Gatt; Herculez Gomez, Jozy Altidore
Russia starting lineup (4-3-3): Vladimir Gabulov; Andrey Yeschenko, Sergei Ignashevich, Vasili Berezutskiy, Aleksandr Anyukov; Igor Denisov, Dmitri Kombarov, Roman Shirokov; Fyodor Smolov, Aleksandr Kerzhakov, Aleksandr Kokorin
Kickoff is at 10 a.m. ET from Kradnosar. You can catch the game on ESPN2 or Univision.
