Clarence Goodson, who started alongside Omar Gonzalez in the United States defense on Friday, might not suit up on Tuesday evening against Mexico. He still has to prove his fitness before dressing, which is presumably why Michael Orozco-Fiscal was called into the team in the first place. Grant Wahl and Ives Galarcep have the details.
USSF reiterates that Goodson or Orozco Fiscal could wear No. 21 tonight.

Number 21 will be either OroZco-Fiscal or Goodson, who it sound like will be a game-time decision. Been told no decision made yet on Goodson

To clarify, sounds like Goodson starts if he’s deemed fit. If he isn’t THEN Orozco-Fiscal would DRESS. Besler seems more likely START option

With no disrespect intended to Matt Besler, who is a good player, Goodson's experience will be welcome at the back if he's able to prove that he's 100 percent fit for the match. He's the most experienced true defender in the team and isn't a guy who has been prone to mental errors in big occasions in the past. I'm hoping he suits up.
