Following their loss to Spain in the tournament opener, the United States are in need of some kind of points against France on Monday. Les Blues did things to Ghana that looked a lot like what the U.S. did to Spain, and the Baby Yanks will probably find themselves out of the Under-20 World Cup with a loss in their second match.
Daniel Garcia is unlikely to start after sustaining a concussion against Spain. Daniel Cuevas is the most likely player to take his starting spot on the left wing. Tab Ramos is also likely to make a change at the back after Daniel Torre looked a bit out of his depth in the opener, though the fitness of other center back candidates hasn't been confirmed.
The strong point of the U.S. side appears to be through the middle, but they're going to face a very stiff test in that department in this game. France has arguably the two most polished midfielders in the competition in Paul Pogba and Geoffrey Kondogbia, and they're two of the most athletic as well. While France might not quite have the same quality of forwards that Spain has, they're certainly stronger through the middle.
