USA vs. Azerbaijan: Lineups and match thread

Come chat with SSFC while the freedom warriors take on Atléti's shirt sponsors.

Happy America day, America! Today, the United States takes on Azerbaijan in the first of three televised warm-up friendlies ahead of the World Cup. They're also playing Belgium once they get to Brazil, but you don't get to watch that game.

Semi-regular starters Eddie Johnson and Landon Donovan aren't in this team, while Fabian Johnson is playing fullback. So who's going to be the fifth starter in midfield? That'll be Alejandro Bedoya, who had a very nice season for Nantes in Ligue 1. He's expected to start on the left, where he'll provide some nice defensive cover for DaMarcus Beasley.

Our fearless leader Ryan Rosenblatt nailed his lineup prediction perfectly, so bow down to him. Though U.S. Soccer is calling this a diamond with Clint Dempsey up top, so ... uhh, okay.

Kickoff is at 10 p.m. ET, 7 p.m, local time from San Francisco. You can catch the game on ESPN2 and UniMas.
