USA vs. Turkey: Lineups and match thread

It's time for Send-Off Series game No. 2. Today's opponent: Turkey.

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

Happy America day, Americaland! Today, the United States takes on Turkey in their second of three Send-Off Series matches. There are three changes from the team that faced Azerbaijan, none of them particularly surprising. Clint Dempsey starts after sitting out the last game with a minor injury.

U.S. Soccer usually lists their lineups from right-to-left, so this implies that Timothy Chandler is playing left back while Fabian Johnson plays right back. This makes absolutely no sense at all, but Jurgen Klinsmann has done it before and has not explained why it makes sense to him.

It's dumb, but we can forgive him, mostly because getting Chandler on the pitch at all is probably a good idea. And because he's rewarded Brad Davis' great performance in the last game with a chance to win some more playing time.

Kickoff is just after 2 p.m. ET from Red Bull Arena. You can catch the game on ESPN2. Chat away here.
