Happy America Day, Americaland! Today, the United States takes on Nigeria in Jacksonville. Today, Tim Howard gets his 100th cap for the USMNT, so we hope you hug a bald eagle in his honor.
The lineup is out, and boy, do we have a surprise for you. It appears Graham Zusi's spot isn't quite as solid as previously believed. He's been dropped from this team in favor of Kyle Beckerman, which obviously isn't like-for-like. Jermaine Jones on a wing doesn't work in a formation with real wingers, but in a diamond, it's not the worst idea.
USMNT starting XI: Tim Howard, DaMarcus Beasley, Matt Besler, Geoff Cameron, Fabian Johnson, Kyle Beckerman, Alejandro Bedoya, Jermaine Jones, Michael Bradley, Clint Dempsey, Jozy Altidore
Kickoff will be just after 6 p.m. ET, depending on how long the pre-game freedom ceremonies run. You can catch the game on ESPN if you prefer to watch games in English, and on UniMas if you prefer Spanish commentary.
