Today CONCACAF announced the preliminary schedule for the group stage of the 2016 Copa America Centenario. The United States, as the hosts of this special edition tournament, were assigned to Group A. Their three group matches will take place in the following cities:
June 3: Santa Clara, California
June 7: Chicago, Illinois
June 11: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
The opponents and start times are still to be determined. A draw will take place in the future to decide how each group will be filled in.
There are three countries that the U.S. are guaranteed to avoid in the group stage as they have all been assigned to the remaining three groups. Here are their schedules:
Group B, Brazil
June 4: Pasadena, California
June 8: Orlando, Florida
June 12: Foxborough, Massachusetts
Group C, Mexico
June 5: Glendale, Arizona
June 9: Pasadena, California
June 13: Houston, Texas
Group D, Argentina
June 6: Santa Clara, California
June 10: Chicago, Illinois
June 14: Seattle, Washington
*The 2016 Copa America Centenario final will be played at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey
