The official changes made to the United States Gold Cup roster will be made public later today. Thanks to the wonderful world of Social Media we already know two players who have been replaced. Jozy Altidore and Alfredo Morales both tweeted their goodbye's this morning.
Always a pleasure to be a part of @ussoccer all the best to the boys the rest of the way! #KeepTheCup #USMNT

Always an honor to represent my country! best of luck to the boys moving forward! @ussoccer will… https://t.co/PXdW3kqayY

Altidore struggled mightily with his fitness during his three games with the USA. A hamstring injury suffered with Toronto FC in mid-May slowed down the big American and he never looked right.
Jordan Morris, Juan Agudelo, and Alan Gordon are the available strikers on the provisional roster to replace him. Morris is very unlikely to be a candidate however. He is still recovering from surgery from a stress fracture of his leg.
Morales' dismissal isn't as surprising as Altidore's. The 25-year-old midfielder has played sparingly over the past few years for the USMNT failing to establish himself as a regular. Likely candidates to replace him are Perry Kitchen or another center back.
Stay tuned for the official announcement of the full changes to the roster later today.
