USA vs. Haiti: How to watch and match thread

Everything you need to know going into this Victory Tour game.

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Who: #1 United States vs. #63 Haiti

When: Thursday, September 17, 7 PM ET

Where: Ford Field, Detroit

How to watch: This game is being broadcast on Fox Sports 1 and streamed on Fox Sports GO.  Pre-show begins at 7 PM ET and kickoff should be at 7:30.

Wait, weren't we playing Australia? Yes we were, but the Matildas are on strike against Football Federation Australia while they debate labor and compensation issues. Haiti was brought in as a last-minute opponent rather than canceling both games.

Previous meetings: We've historically fared very well against CONCACAF minnow Haiti, with our last meeting during World Cup qualifying in 2014 resulting in a 6-0 handling. You can read more about Haiti's struggles to put together a competitive women's tam here.

Players to watch: Some US players are still in season for NWSL, having just come from semifinals. The USWNT twitter account posted a picture of some of them resting during practice.

Jill Ellis might choose to rest them, or she might consider four days enough time between games to give some of them time. Considering this game might be played mostly in Haiti's half of the field, audiences should probably turn their attention to the WNT's forwards.

With the Portland Thorns out of the playoffs and Alex Morgan seemingly fit to play again, she could be raring to get some balls on frame. Also watch out for Christen Press and possibly Crystal Dunn, the only non-World Cup roster callup for these games.
