The rise of Christian Pulisic up the Borussia Dortmund ranks took another step in the right direction on Tuesday. Kicker is reporting that the young American prospect is one of two U-19 Dortmund stars to get the call up to the BVB first team for the club's Winter trip to Dubai.

It shouldn't be much of a surprise to see Pulisic wanted by the senior team for training. He's widely considered to be the best prospect in the USMNT pipeline currently. The 17-year-old joins U-19 teammate Felix Passlack as the only two from their age group to receive the coveted invite to train with the first team. It's not exactly clear how long Pulisic's stint with the first team will last. It could just extend the duration of their Dubai trip, but the player's father seems to think the situation is a permanent one:

With the Borussia Dortmund staff fully aware of Pulisic's talents and inviting him to train with the full squad any chance they get, he appears to be on the fast track for the first team. We'll see how this situation plays out in the near future.

While the youngster holds a Croatian passport and could theoretically file a one-time switch to represent Croatia, he seems fully committed to U.S. Soccer. He represented the U.S. at the most recent U-17 World Cup in 2015 and will likely do so again for the U-20 team come 2017 unless Jurgen Klinsmann deems him ready for the senior team by then.
