Jordan Morris awarded MAC Hermann Trophy as the nation's best collegiate player

Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports

Last year couldn't have gone much better for Jordan Morris. The United States striker scored his first international goal, led the Stanford Cardinal to an NCAA title, and has now capped it off by winning the MAC Hermann Trophy. The 21-year-old was chosen as the nation's best male collegiate (Division 1) soccer player at an awards banquet on Thursday.

Morris had 13 goals for the Cardinal in 18 appearances while missing five games due to international duty. He capped off his season with a very impressive brace in the College Cup final to lift Stanford over Clemson.

Not much went wrong for the talented forward in 2015. Aside from missing out on automatic qualification to the 2016 Olympics with the U.S. U-23's it was pretty much a perfect year that has led him to a career crossroads. He's since announced his decision to turn pro and must now decide whether to accept the Seattle Sounders' record-breaking homegrown offer or pursue a career in Europe.

Senior midfielder Raquel Rodriguez of Penn State took home the award for the ladies.
