Julian Green has scored his second goal for the U.S. men’s national team in as many games. After scoring the insurance goal against Cuba on Friday, the Bayern Munich forward got the start against New Zealand and found the back of the net again to open the scoring:

The play started with a long ball up to Jozy Altidore who nodded down into space for Green to run onto on the left flank. He cut inside and struck a low and hard shot to the near post that caught the Kiwi’s goalkeeper off-guard and flat-footed as he watched it fly past him.
It’s Green’s third career USMNT goal after famously scoring at the 2014 World Cup. he went over two years before scoring another one, but now he has two in his last two. Some had written him off already, but he’s making a case from more playing time as the final round of World Cup qualifying approaches.
