Soccer: International Friendly Men's Soccer-New Zealand at USA Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

The United States men’s national team played to a lackluster 1-1 draw against New Zealand on Tuesday night in the final prep match before the Hex begins. Everything about the match was toned down from the atmosphere to the attitudes on the field. It just felt like a scrimmage more than an international friendly.

There were still lessons learned and cases made, but all-in-all it was a throwaway friendly that no one will remember or care about next week. We calculated the votes and the results are in:

Man of the Match: Julian Green

For the second match running, Julian Green is your Man of the Match thanks to his first half goal against the Kiwis. We’ve been introduced a new look Julian Green in these two friendlies.
