Julian Green’s resurgent 2016 continues as Sport Bild are reporting that the U.S. international will get his first competitive start of the season on Wednesday against Augsburg in the second round of the DFB Cup (German Cup).
Surprise: Julien Green was today in @FCBayern starting lineup for tomorrows @DFB_Pokal-Match against @FCAugsburg @SPORTBILD @J_Green37

Green played 35 minutes off the bench in the previous round of this competition in a 5-0 win against FC Carl Zeiss.
It’s been a very good fall for the German-American. After earning a call-up to the U.S. national team in October, he scored in back-to-back matches against Cuba and New Zealand. Now he has a great chance to continue adding to his goal total against a team Bayern should handle easily.
Green’s chances of getting a call-up for next month’s vital World Cup qualifiers against Mexico and Costa Rica to kick off the Hex are steadily improving each day. A good performance on Wednesday could cement his name on Jurgen Klinsmann’s roster next month.
This match can be seen at 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday. It will be televised on ESPN Deportes and ESPN3.
