It’s no secret Leslie Jones has been getting more into soccer lately. She tweeted about it a bit during the Olympics, but really took off with MLS. Now she’s watching national team games, and while she was watching the death of Dos A Cero, happened upon the fact that WNT players are not paid as much as MNT players.
It started here:
Gonna say this but don't be mad. I think the women score more in their games yall. Lol oooo I'm bout to get it for saying that lol

There are a lot of factors that go into why the WNT are #1 in the world and the MNT #24 in the most recent rankings, including the respective histories of the teams, discrepancies in the development of men’s and women’s soccer, and the average quality of opponent the teams face, so a one-to-one comparison isn’t totally fair. But on the surface she’s not wrong, and as a new fan, picking up on the discrepancy clearly led her to start knocking on some more doors. Specifically, this door.
The women get paid less? WTF?! Um should the ones with NO WORLD CUPS get paid less. Um confused!!

Bobby Wood got the equalizer, but Jones would not be deterred from asking about equal play equal pay.
GOOOOOOOOOOOOAL!!! Now let's talk about this equal pay thing!!

At which point USWNT captain and defender Becky Sauerbrunn herself stepped in.
.@Lesdoggg I'd be happy to talk to you about it...doesn't make sense to me either.

As Jones discovered, her custom LESDOGGG jersey is a 3-star WNT jersey.

Hey Leslie, a Saturday Night Live skit with Kate McKinnon as Megan Rapinoe. Think about it.
