Currently in the final six months of his contract at Borussia Dortmund, Junior Flores is now linked to a potential move to Scottish giants Celtic. Today’s Scottish Sun discusses Brendan Rodgers’ interest in the former U.S. youth national team midfielder.
Rodgers’ interest in Flores is not new, he chased the young playmaker while he was in charge at Liverpool. However, Dortmund beat him to Flores’ signature then. Rodgers could be battling multiple MLS clubs for Flores this time around.
Flores has not broken into the first team in Germany and has played primarily with the reserves in the fourth division. This year has been more of a struggle, Flores suffered an ankle injury in August that has slowed his progress. With no serious prospects of playing time at Dortmund, a change of scenery could be just what Flores needs.
According to the Scottish Sun, Flores could be allowed to leave on loan in January ahead of a permanent move in the summer.
