After a nearly two-month stretch with no goals at the club level, Bobby Wood has scored for the second straight match. Today he scored Hamburg’s second goal in a 2-1 win over Schalke after netting in a loss on the weekend.
It was a fantastic individual effort after receiving the ball on the right flank. After dribbling into the box, he cut onto his weaker left foot and struck an unstoppable shot past the goalkeeper for a very nice goal.
Wood began the match on the bench but came on as a sub in the 53rd minute to help secure the three points.
It’s an important victory for Hamburg as they fight to stay in the Bundesliga. The three points temporarily lifts them up above Ingolstadt in the table, but they still remain in the final relegation spot.
This is Wood’s fourth league goal of the season and his sixth in all competitions.
