The youngster participates in a Facebook Live chat

On Wednesday afternoon, Christian Pulisic took over U.S. Soccer’s Facebook account for a “Facebook interview thing” a.k.a. a Facebook Live Q&A session.

The 18-year-old phenom answered questions from fans for about 20 minutes while at home in Hershey, PA during the Bundesliga’s winter break. Topics ranged from the name of his cat to his rapid rise up the ranks of Borussia Dortmund.

Some highlights included his thoughts on the chances of the USMNT making the World Cup. To which he responded:

“I’m very confident in our team. I think we’re going to have a great year in qualifying. I do feel very confident and I trust in our team that we’re going to get the job done in qualifying and be ready for the World Cup in 2018.

He also touched on his rapid rise at Dortmund and what it’s like to play in Europe for an American:

“Obviously, I’ve had a pretty unbelievable year. It’s all gone so fast. I definitely encourage Americans to try to get over there. I know there’s some very good quality in the U.S. now, it’s growing and growing, but I’ve learned so much there. It’s been huge to be out in Europe and learn from some of the best players in the world.

For such a young person, he’s as poised as a 30-year-old veteran in front of the camera. It should be really fun to watch him continue to develop over the next few years.
