According to ESPNFC, Borussia Dortmund could be ready to unite two of U.S. Soccer’s most promising under-20 players.
The Bundesliga powerhouse is said to be very interested in acquiring Gedion Zelalem from Arsenal.
The 19-year-old was born in Germany and could benefit from a move away from the London club he currently plays in the reserves for.
If the move comes off, Zelalem would join fellow American prodigy Christian Pulisic in Dortmund’s midfield.
While a path to the Dortmund first team wouldn’t be easy, the club are known for giving young players every chance to succeed. This could be a very prosperous move for the young U.S. youth international if it comes to fruition.
Zelalem has been with Arsenal since 2013 and his contract at the club expires at the end of the current season. This could motivate Arsene Wenger to hurry up and sell him before he leaves for free.
What do you think of this rumor? Would you want to see Zelalem join Pulisic at Signal Iduna Park?
