USMNT TV Guide & Open Thread (12/9-12/12)

The moment is finally here. It’s MLS Cup 2016 weekend and what a final we have ahead of us. As USMNT fans, we couldn’t really ask for much more to get us interested in MLS’ biggest match of the year (okay, maybe we could ask for a healthy Clint Dempsey, but just go with it).

The Seattle Sounders take on Toronto FC on Saturday night (8 p.m. ET, FOX) for all the MLS marbles. Both teams are in terrific form and are coming off hard-fought wins in their respective Conference finals. Two of the USMNT’s most in-form strikers in Jozy Altidore and Jordan Morris face off in a huge match. Which one will handle the pressure the best? Then you have the captain, Michael Bradley, looking to win an MLS Cup. It’s all the USMNT intrigue we could possibly hope for. It should be a heck of a match. The show goes on in Europe as well with a full slate of action. It’s not the most intriguing set of matches this weekend. If we had to pick one potential fixture to keep an eye on it would have to be Hertha Berlin hosting Werder Bremen on Saturday afternoon. Could we see Aron Johannsson and John Brooks face-off? It’s doubtful considering Aron hasn’t been playing much lately, but we can dream.
