The United States concludes their month-long camp tonight with a friendly against their northern rivals Canada. It's a inter-CONCACAF match-up that doesn't get a lot of attention, but has the potential to blow up into a big rivalry one of these days. This friendly will mark the last time the USA play until their March World Cup qualifiers against Guatemala.
Jurgen Klinsmann makes wholesale changes to the side that beat Iceland on Sunday. Most notably are on the back line. Jermaine Jones pushes back to centerback, while Steve Birnbaum comes in at an unnatural right back spot. Mix Diskerud and Jordan Morris come into the starting 11 as well. David Bingham makes his first ever start in goal.
Canada haven't beaten the USA since 1985, however the last two meetings have resulted in boring scoreless draws. That just makes you want to stay up until 1 a.m. to watch doesn't it?
The match coverage begins at 10:00 p.m. ET on FS1 and UniMas, while kick off isn't expected until 10:45 p.m. ET. Congrats to all the West coasters out there who get to tease the other time zones for the late kickoff. It should be an interesting match!
United States lineup: David Bingham; Steve Birnbaum, Jermaine Jones, Matt Besler, Kellyn Acosta; Gyasi Zardes, Michael Bradley, Mix Diskerud, Lee Nguyen; Jordan Morris, Jozy Altidore
