USA vs. Canada: Final score 1-0, Late Jozy Altidore goal seals win for the USA

The United States men's national team wrapped up their month-long training camp with another dramatic win. This time it was Canada who fell victim to the late heroics. In what was a rather dull affair, the U.S. benefited from a timely sub and were able to come out on top.

Both teams came out ready to attack, however neither side were able to settle their play down enough to form a threatening chance until after the half hour mark. The first 45 minutes were a disorganized mess with sloppy play covering the entire field for the majority. The best chance for either side came when Jozy Altidore played in Jordan Morris with a lobbed pass into the box. The Seattle Sounders forward attempted to chip the goalkeeper, but the tough finish fell wide of the goal.

Canada will feel harshly treated by the ref for not receiving a penalty when Jermaine Jones upended Cyle Larin in the box. Replays showed that a foul occurred, they also revealed a missed handball on Larin, so two missed calls in one unfortunate sequence.

The U.S. midfield dominated the second half controlling the play throughout. However they couldn't break through a stout Canadian defense that was content to sit behind the ball and frustrate the Americans.

Finally after 88 minutes of play, substitute Ethan Finlay's great work on the left flank allowed him to cross in for Altidore. The USMNT's fourth all-time leading scorer scored his second goal in as many games to clinch the win.

It was a less-than-ideal performance, but the second half domination and a late goal will leave everyone with a better taste in their mouths than had it ended scoreless. The U.S. take the field next in March with two World Cup qualifiers against Guatemala
