Matthew Olosunde only just recently officially signed with Manchester United and he's already drawing praise. Shortly after making his debut for the club's U-18s, youth academy manager Nicky Butt had this to say about the club's young American:
"He’s one that’s been ongoing for a while. With the clearance, it took a while, but we’ve got him.
"He’s a good player, a nice lad and a really good athlete. Hopefully, we’ll see a lot from him in the coming years because he’s someone we’re really excited about."
Olosunde -- a right back, center back, and winger -- signed with the storied English club on January 29th, but couldn't suit up for the club until March because his international clearance was delayed.
The U.S. youth international hails from Trenton, New Jersey and spent his youth career with the New York Red Bulls academy. He turned down a scholarship to Duke to join Manchester United.
Olosunde played with the U-20 U.S. national team at the Dallas Cup in March. He started in the Manchester United U-18s' 7-1 win over Newcastle over the weekend and is featured in the "Trickbox", a video series on the club's website showcasing their players' in-game skills. You can watch it here.
