Do you like rumors?
Then I have a rumor for you courtesy of everyone's favorite voice on the television, Ian Darke. Take it away, sir:
Persistent Merseyside rumours that USA coach Jurgen Klinsmann could be next Everton manager.

Well, if there weren't rumors about this before, then there certainly are going to be some now.
This wouldn't be the first time that Klinsmann has entertained offers to return to the club scene. Turkish power Galatasaray made him an offer after the 2014 World Cup and he told Bild that there were other opportunities.
Why would Jurgen be looking to make an escape now? I don't profess to having any knowledge of the situation beyond the average fan, but there's undoubtedly been blood in the water lately.
Would he have been fired if his team didn't beat Guatemala in Columbus? Is the U-23s' failure to qualify for the Olympics reflecting negatively on him? I don't have any answers, only questions. But I'm sure he (or his agent) has kicked the tires on a few (potentially) available positions, as is his right.
If Klinsmann does leave for another position after the Copa America Centenario, then Sunil Gulati and U.S. Soccer will be scrambling to fill the position before qualifying really heats up. Or maybe they won't be. Maybe it's a planned withdrawal on which everyone has been briefed and prepared. Who knows? I don't. Thus is the nature of rumors.
If you want my opinion (and why wouldn't you?), I think he stays through the 2018 World Cup.
**************UPDATE**************
A US Soccer spokesman says that Everton has not contacted them about Jurgen Klinsmann. #usmnt
