This morning, commentator Ian Darke dropped this report of rumors regarding Jurgen Klinsmann's future:
Persistent Merseyside rumours that USA coach Jurgen Klinsmann could be next Everton manager.
— Ian Darke (@IanDarke) April 13, 2016
Naturally, Twitter and the blogosphere was abuzz with speculation.
However, Klinsmann poured water on the whole thing and took the time to compliment current Everton manager Roberto Martinez:
Rumours are wrong! Not going anywhere and Everton FC has a fantastic Manager in Roberto Martinez!https://t.co/G1fQiBmHzB

So we've experienced the full cycle of a good rumor -- initial information, inspection of validity, discussion of ramifications, and the shoot down -- all in a span of less than 12 hours. Everyone gets to be entertained, the bloggers get clicks, and the world keeps on spinning.
Of course, we could consider the possibility that maybe Klinsmann means he's not going anywhere *right now*, but left off the last part. (Sorry. No. We're not doing that.)
Anyway, Klinsmann today, Klinsmann tomorrow, Klinsmann forever through the 2018 World Cup.
At least until the next rumor regarding his coaching future pops up.
