One of the United States' brightest prospects has officially joined Schalke in the Bundesliga. Haji Wright announced on his Twitter account (as you do) today that he's officially signed with the club that he's spent the last several years training at.
Very happy to announce that I have officially signed with @s04. Excited for the future and can't wait to get started. #GlückAuf ⚪️

Wright is the fourth USA U-17 star from the most recent World Cup squad to join a big European team joining Christian Pulisic (Borussia Dortmund), Matthew Olosunde (Manchester United), and Joshua Perez (Fiorentina).
Rumors have linked the young American with Schalke for years. Training stints between the club and player have been arranged on multiple occasions through the years. Now that he's finally turned 18 years old, he's free to sign with a European team by FIFA law.
Wright came up in the LA Galaxy academy but quickly decided that Europe would be the best destination for him to begin his career, although a quick stop with the New York Cosmos would come before his signature met the Schalke contract.
Much praise and hype has been heaped on the shoulders of Haji Wright. Like any young prospect, only time will tell if he lives up to the billing. Beginning his European adventure with a respected club like Schalke is a good start.
