Jurgen Klinsmann excited about young players stating their case for Copa America team

Pulisic, Morris, and Yedlin are all on Jurgen's mind.

If there's one thing you cannot criticize Jurgen Klinsmann for during his tenure as United States manager it's giving young players a chance. He's given debuts to many young prospects and has even taken a few onto the biggest stage in the world at the 2014 World Cup. Youngsters Julian Green, John Brooks, and DeAndre Yedlin were all brought to Brazil and each played their parts in one way or another.

In preparation for this summer's Copa America Centenario, Jurgen is excited about the crop of young players coming through the ranks currently. In a video posted on his Facebook page, Klinsmann singles out Christian Pulisic specifically as a player who is doing all he can to make a case for a Copa America roster spot. He also mentioned Jordan Morris, who scored his first professional goal at the weekend, and DeAndre Yedlin, who is playing every week for Sunderland, as exciting players potentially for this summer.

"For Christian, obviously, it's been a very exciting ride over the last couple of months," Klinsmann said. "For scoring his first goal for Dortmund, starting a game in the Bundesliga, getting valuable minutes in that very, very intense environment, he sends messages out toward what happens with the national team as well. We are just weeks away from the Copa America, the biggest competition in the United States since the 1994 World Cup, so he makes himself a case.

"And so similar to other players who try to get kind of on the right track right now trying to perform in their club teams and knock at the door of breaking into the 23-man roster for the Copa America. So it's definitely good to see young players like Christian or like a Jordan Morris or other ones, a DeAndre Yedlin, playing now almost every game for Sunderland ... coming out really strong and sending a message to their coach in the U.S., 'I want to be in the Copa America.'"

There is only a month left for these young players to prove themselves at the club level before a preliminary roster is brought into camp on May 16th to prepare for the Copa America.

This just my humble opinion, I don't know what goes through Jurgen's mind, but there's probably a good chance all three are brought along for the ride this summer.
