The everlasting Christian Pulisic news cycle is at it again. Sports Illustrated's Grant Wahl reports that a U.S. Soccer source told him that not only is the 17-year-old Borussia Dortmund midfielder expected to make the United States' final Copa America Centenario roster, but he wouldn't be surprised to see Pulisic start for the team.
One U.S. Soccer source says that not only does he expect Pulisic to be part of the U.S. Copa America squad, but he also would not be shocked at all if Pulisic is in the starting lineup.
At this point, it's probably not surprising news that the youngster would be a favorite to make the USMNT's roster for Copa America considering his standout play for the second-place club in the Bundesliga. Pulisic has appeared 11 times in all competitions for Dortmund during his first professional season, already tallying two goals and becoming the youngest player in the Bundesliga to ever do so in the process.
The interesting news here is that Pulisic could be considered for a starting spot in the team. The USMNT have struggled to find dynamic attacking players since Landon Donovan's retirement. It's likely they see something special in this young man but hopefully, they don't rush him into something that will hurt his overall development.
