Bobby Wood has two goals in just 13 minutes for Union Berlin today against Paderborn bringing his goal tally on the season to an impressive 15. These two goals break Conor Casey's record for goals by an American in Germany's top two flights. Casey scored 14 goals for Karlsruher in 2003-04.
Wood's first goal on the day came from a storming run down the left. He cut onto his right foot and finished low and hard past the Paderborn goalkeeper. Not the best goal he's scored this season, but a respectable one nonetheless. This tied Casey's total of 14.
Minutes later, Wood collected a long ball with a beautiful first touch and raced in on goal while out-muscling a defender. His finish was placed low to the goalkeeper's left and it found it's way into the net to break the record. A lovely goal to make such an occasion.
