USA v Puerto Rico HIGHLIGHT: Luis Betancur pulls one back for home team

A college kid!

Luis Betancur pulled one back for Puerto Rico in the 42nd minute, cutting the United States men's national team's lead to 2-1.

The 21-year old striker took the pass from Puerto Rico Football Club's Jackie Marrero and scored on a beautiful long range effort to beat a diving Brad Guzan.

Betancur currently plays in the NCAA for Florida International University. He will be a senior in the fall. He appeared with the Puerto Rico U-20 national team during U-20 World Cup Qualifiers in 2012.

Standing 6'1" and hailing from Parkland, Florida, he scored 19 goals for the FIU Panthers last fall. He was also recruited by Clemson, UNC-Charlotte, and Florida Gulf Coast. Betancur is majoring in Sports Medicine.

He was named Florida High School Athletic Association 3A Player of the Year and Florida Dairy Farmers State Player of the Year for Douglas High School in 2011-2012 while leading his team to a state championship. Betancur played with the ODP Florida and Region III teams. He played club ball with Florida power Weston FC.
