The United States fought tooth and nail to escape Philadelphia with a 1-0 victory over Paraguay. The three points eventually led them to finishing atop Copa America's Group A after Colombia fell to Costa Rica. It was an extremely nervy 90 minutes that required the Americans to bare down and commit to the defensive side of the game.

After DeAndre Yedlin picked up two quick yellow cards to begin the second half, the U.S. really converted to survival mode to hold onto their slim one-goal lead that Clint Dempsey had provided in the first half.

We've calculated the numbers and the top vote-getter should come as no surprise to anyone who paid attention to this match.

Man of the Match: John Brooks

It was one of the best defensive performances we've ever seen by the 23-year-old German-American. Brooks was everywhere on the night. With 25 total defensive actions which included 15 clearances, the Hertha Berlin central defender etched his name into USMNT lore with a performance for the ages.
