The United States men's national team know their Copa America Centenario quarterfinal opponents and it's a team that they played not too long ago. In a rematch of a pre-tournament friendly, the USA will take on Ecuador on Thursday, June 16 at CenturyLink Field in Seattle.
A victory over Haiti clinched the runner-up spot in Group B for Ecuador and they will travel to the Pacific Northwest and have to play in front of what is expect to be a boisterous pro-USA crowd.
These two teams played on May 25 in Frisco, TX with the Americans prevailing 1-0 thanks to a 90th minute Darlington Nagbe goal. While some claim that was a "B team" for Ecuador, eight of the 11 players who started that match also started against Haiti. Both teams should have a pretty good idea of what to expect from one another.
Seattle will be rocking and both sides should be up for the occasion with a trip to the semifinals and possibly a meeting with Lionel Messi's Argentina up for grabs.
UPDATE: The match will kick off at 9:30 p.m. ET, 6:30 p.m. PT and air on Fox Sports 1 and UniMas.
