The United States men's national team ripped apart Costa Rica last night. It was a very redeeming victory after such a bitter opener. The 4-0 win puts the U.S. in great position to advance to the Copa America quarterfinals with a favorable result on Saturday against Paraguay.
It was a complete performance by the USMNT with four different players scoring goals and the back line shutting down the Ticos for 90 minutes. We asked you to vote in our traditional post-match player ratings form and here are the results:
Man of the Match: Jermaine Jones
Thanks to his first half goal an all-around brilliance in the midfield, Jermaine Jones (8.30) was voted as the highest rated player of the match by the SSFC community. Clint Dempsey (7.95) and John Brooks (7.68) were the next two highest vote-getters. All-in-all I'd say the community did well in their ratings as a reflection of who did well and who didn't (looking at you, Gyasi).
