According to ESPN’s Jeff Carlisle, Gedion Zelalem will get playing time for Arsenal on Thursday in the MLS All-Star game.

Wenger also called Zelalem “physically behind in terms of body structure” according to Carlisle. But at 19, Zelalem probably still has a little time to fill out and catch up to Wenger’s expectations, at least on the physical side. The mental side may be another question - one that might have some answers for Wenger after Thursday’s game.
It’s been a bit of a rough time for Zelalem lately and he hasn’t panned out while on loan with Rangers FC in the Scottish second division (now the Scottish Premiere League after winning promotion), so he could definitely use a good showing this week. A good All-Star game and he might also see time against Chivas, the next stop on Arsenal’s tour of the U.S.
The All-Star game kicks off on Thursday, July 28 at 7:30 PM ET.
