Terrence Boyd nearing return to training for RB Leipzig

Terrence Boyd has had a terrible run of injury luck the last few years. The German-American has missed nearly all of the last two calendar years with two knee ligament injuries and is only now returning to full fitness.

The United States international has begun the preseason by training with RB Leipzig's under-13 team to gain confidence in his knee. After a few successful weeks he appears ready to join the first-team training according to Sport Buzzer.

"My knee showed no negative reaction," Boyd said. "If it stays that way, I'd like to think that I will take part in the first training session of the professional team."

He is entering the final year of his contract with the newly-promoted Bundesliga club and will be doing all he can to prove he still belongs.

Boyd has 13 caps for the U.S. national team without scoring a goal. However, he was a fan-favorite in his time with the team due to his passion and desire to play for his country.

As we all know, coming back from knee injuries can be very tricky. Hopefully luck is on his side this time and he gets back to doing what he loves to do. Maybe we'll even see him return to the USMNT one day.
