Rumors and speculation all summer long have hinted towards DeAndre Yedlin making a return to Sunderland, where he enjoyed a successful second half of last season. However, when the club’s manager, Sam Allardyce, unexpectedly took the England job, it wasn’t known what would happen with the situation.
The Black Cats’ new boss, David Moyes, confirmed on Monday that the club are in need of a right back and are still very much interested in DeAndre Yedlin and have held internal and external talks about re-acquiring the Tottenham Hotspur and United States defender. However, he’s not the only candidate they’re looking at.
“Both M’Vila and Yedlin made decent impacts.
“They are players who we have talked about in the last week a lot, and we have spoken to people about them.
“So I would say that they are players who are out there, but they are among a number of players who we are looking at.
“I want to see if there are better players than that available, or if there is better value.” - David Moyes; Source: ChronicleLive
Will Yedlin end up back at the Stadium of Light? Odds are good now that Moyes has confirmed his interest. The transfer market is a tricky thing, especially in the Premier League. He proved his worth to Sunderland last season and it could win him a job this season if the club are unable to find a better alternative on the transfer market.
