USA drop to 26th in FIFA World Rankings

Argentina still No. 1

The United States men’s national team have dropped one spot in the latest edition of the FIFA World Rankings. Despite not playing a match in the last month, the U.S. presumably fell to 26th in the rankings due to the window for considered results shaving off some positive performances in favor of losses.

While we can all agree that FIFA’s rankings are pretty much pointless, it’s still human nature to want to know where you stand in the world’s eyes.

If we’re being completely honest, 26th is probably fair at this point in the game. The Copa America performance was encouraging for the USMNT, but the overall body of work for the last two years has been less than inspiring.

The USA continue to be the third-ranked team in COCACAF beind Mexico (14th) and Costa Rica (21st).

The Top 5 remains the same with Argentina leading the pack in the No. 1 spot for the fifth straight month.
