Watch Jozy Altidore score a fantastic goal vs. Houston Dynamo

It’s been a frustrating season for Jozy Altidore. He began the season on the injured list with repetitive hamstring injuries. After fighting his way back, he injured it yet again before the Copa America Centenario and was forced to miss that important tournament.

Supposedly, he and Toronto FC finally found the cause of his hamstring woes and got it sorted. He’s finally back to playing and scoring goals once again. It’s been a slow road back, but Jozy has caught fire recently and scored his third goal in his last for games on Sunday night with this brilliant finish off a Sebastian Giovinco corner:

With less than three weeks remaining until the United States men’s national team return to World Cup qualifying, Jozy is making a strong case to Jurgen Klinsmann that he’s finally fit and ready to compete for his starting job once again.

The USMNT striker pool has suddenly become very crowded with Jordan Morris also scoring in bunches this season, Bobby Wood performing well at the Copa, and even guys like Aron Johannsson and Terence Boyd getting healthy.

What did you think of Jozy’s goal? Do you want to see him in September with the USMNT?
