Who should start for the USMNT vs. St. Vincent and the Grenadines?

Here's our take.

Now that Jurgen Klinsmann has released the roster for the United States' final two semifinal World Cup Qualifiers, it's time to look at how he might send out the team on Friday in Kingstown against St. Vincent and the Grenadines. With normal starters Clint Dempsey and Gyasi Zardes out of the squad due to injuries, and with Michael Bradley suspended, Jurgen Klinsmann will have to shuffle the deck substantially from his favored Copa America team.

There won't be any surprises along the back four or in net, with Fabian Johnson still playing at left back due to more depth ahead of him. With John Brooks out of the squad, this gives Omar Gonzalez a chance to get back into Jurgen Klinsmann's good graces and start alongside Geoff Cameron ahead of Steve Birnbaum.

The midfield is where Klinsmann has a dilemma. Michael Bradley is suspended for this game, and Jermaine Jones hasn't played since July due to injury. In the likely case that Jones can't go, Kyle Beckerman will deputize alongside Alejandro Bedoya, who has been playing in a more central role since moving to the Philadelphia Union. Because of the lightness in central midfield, this likely paves the way for Darlington Nagbe to start ahead of both Beckerman and Bedoya in the formation. It would be Nagbe's first start for the National Team, and it is long overdue. Sasha Kljestan's return to the US National Team is long overdue, but he won't be in line to start. He could be making sub appearances though.

Christian Pulisic should get a start as he's in better form than Graham Zusi at the moment, but Zusi's experience could mean he starts on the left in the 4-3-3 on Friday. Bobby Wood will likely occupy the space underneath Jozy Altidore, but could move out wide in certain situations. And with Jozy Altidore's red-hot form, there's no reason for him not to start and lead the line.

Jurgen Klinsmann has plenty of decisions to make for Friday and next Tuesday, but due to injuries and suspensions Friday's XI should be a fairly straightforward selection.
