The mystery of where Julian Green will spend this upcoming season is apparently over. Bayern Munich made it official today by naming the 21-year-old to their club’s first team squad for the 2016-17 season.

Green is one of 25 players to earn a spot on the defending Bundesliga champions’ roster. He will wear the #37 for those of you looking to add to your kit collections.
While it may seem a little weird to think Green could get any meaningful minutes this season considering he’s spent the last two seasons not making much of an impact, a position change has brightened his prospects at the club.
New Bayern manager, Carlo Ancelotti, has converted Green from a winger to an out-and-out striker where the U.S. international has thrived this preseason. He has scored four goals in friendlies and appears to have a very good chance of being the only back-up to Robert Lewandowski on the first team roster.
With Bayern in their usual full slate of competitions this season, it’s a safe bet that Green will get his fair share of opportunities to prove himself at a really high level.
This can only help his chances at getting back into the national team picture soon.
