What a day it’s been for USMNT goalscorers for their club. Earlier in the day, Bobby Wood and DeAndre Yedlin (yes, really) scored for their clubs. Tonight, not to be outdone, Jozy Altidore has found net for Toronto FC in their match against the Chicago Fire.
It’s his sixth goal in his last eight matches for Toronto. If you could national team matches, it’s nine goals in his last 10. What a great run of form it’s been for Jozy. He has completely shaken off his woeful hamstring issues to become the striker we all know he can be.
Inconsistency has always plagued Jozy throughout his career, so it’s nice to see him put together such a long run of matches with goals and great performances. Here’s to hoping he can keep it going through at least November when the USMNT begin the Hex. He’ll be sorely needed up front against Mexico and Costa Rica.
