WATCH: Landon Donovan scores first goal since coming out of retirement

HE’S BAAAAACK!

The year is 2016 and Landon Donovan has scored a real life goal in Major League Soccer. The U.S. Soccer legend announced he was coming out of retirement about two weeks ago and he’s already found the net in only his second appearance since taking nearly two years off from the game.

Just minutes after coming onto the field as a substitute, the USMNT’s all-time leading goalscorer latched onto a pass at the top of the box and curled a first-time shot with his left foot into the back of the net to tie the LA Galaxy’s match with Sporting Kansas City at 2.

It’s his 314th career goal in MLS and it had to feel extremely good to score and prove to himself and everyone else that he’s still got little bit of gas in the tank. It will be extra special for him too because it’s the first goal he’s ever scored in front of his son.

He may not be the same Landon that left in 2014, but he’s still got that natural ability to pull off something special. It’s great to see him back.
