Look, I’ve given Alejandro Bedoya his fair share of criticism, but at the end of the day he still produces on the field when it matters. He’s gotten off to a slow start since moving to the Philadelphia Union this summer, but he more than made up for it in today’s 1-1 draw with Toronto FC.
The USMNT midfielder scored his first ever goal in Major League Soccer and did so in spectacular fashion.
Oh my goodness.@AleBedoya17 with the beautiful chip for @PhilaUnion. #TORvPHI https://t.co/zMsmey8tJE

With no score midway through the first half, Bedoya took possession around the TFC box, drove toward goal and decided to try and chip Clint Irwin from the top of the area.
I honestly didn’t think he had this type of skill in his locker, but he surely brought it out today with this stunning goal.
Ultimately, it only got his team a point against a very good Toronto side, but it has to be very encouraging for him personally to get off the mark with his new club in that type of way. Hopefully it now propels him to bigger and better things this season with the Union and the USMNT come November.
