US Soccer fans held their breath on the weekend as DeAndre Yedlin suffered an injury and limped off the field in the 73’ minute against Aston Villa. It really didn’t look too bad and the 23-year-old was able to limp off the pitch under his own power, but it was Yedlin’s second straight start and his first match in the Championship so you’d hate to see a setback for him now.

But have no fears, the American was in the starting XI for Newcastle United on Wednesday against Norwich City. Then he went on to show he is ready to do some damage in the second division of English football.

Newcastle went down 3-1 to the Canaries in the 69’ minute, but immediately got one back. Then in the closing stages of the match, Yedlin assisted Yoan Gouffran with a perfect cross to bring them level. Dwight Gayle then finished off the comeback and won the match in the 96’ minute.

Here are the two stoppage time goals:

Yedlin appears to be settling in nicely to his new home and he’s got the potential to really impress in this league and take his confidence to a new level.
