U.S. Soccer announced two changes to the current roster ahead of Tuesday’s World Cup qualifier against Trinidad & Tobago.
Matt Besler and DeAndre Yedlin are departing the USMNT ahead of the match. Besler has returned home due to his wife giving birth to their daughter. While DeAndre Yedlin is returning to Newcastle because he’s suspended for the upcoming match due to yellow card accumulation.

Meanwhile, Michael Bradley and Michael Orozco are set to join the team prior to the final qualifying match of the semi-final round.
The U.S. have virtually locked up a spot in the Hex, which begins in November. It would take a colossal turn of events for Guatemala to overcome a 12-goal goal differential and leapfrog the U.S. for second in Group 3.
Technically neither of these moves are “changes” per se. All of these players were named to the initial roster. Bradley and Orozco were just serving suspensions and now Yedlin will have to do the same.
