U.S. youth international Brooks Lennon signed with Liverpool in mid-2015 but it appears as if he’s already set to come home. Chris Kamrani of the Salt Lake Tribune reports that the 19-year-old could be set to leave Anfield to join Real Salt Lake.
It’s unclear whether the move would be a loan or a permanent transfer. Unless something drastic has happened and he has to return home for personal reasons, you’d think a loan is more likely unless RSL have spent a considerable amount of money to buy him.
Before joining Liverpool, Lennon played for RSL’s Development Academy side and was a standout performer. While he wasn’t necessarily a top player in his short stint at Liverpool he did impress. He’s scored twice this season in the U-21 Premier League in 11 appearances.
Aside from having the best name in American soccer, he’s also very talented. This is a strange situation that there’s talk of him returning already. We’ll have to wait and see how it plays out and the circumstances surrounding his possible return.
