Borussia Dortmund was rumored to be making a move for Arsenal midfielder Gedion Zelalem.

According to Thomas Tuchel (and ESPN FC), it won’t be happening during the January transfer window:

"I don't think that we add somebody [in January]," Tuchel told ESPN FC in an exclusive interview with Raphael Honigstein.

Asked specifically about Zelalem, Tuchel denied any possibility of a deal going through.

"Right now? No. Not as far as I'm concerned," he said.

Zelalem is currently struggling to break through with Arsenal. The 19-year old U.S. international has spent time with the reserves in the Premier League 2 and made appearances in the EFL Cup. He spent the 2015-2016 season on loan with Rangers in the Scottish Championship, playing in 21 matches.

Zelalem joined Arsenal in 2013 after being scouted playing for his club team Olney Rangers at the Dallas Cup. He spent time with various German youth national teams, but joined the U.S. program after gaining his citizenship at the end of 2014.
