If you’ll recall, it was at exactly this time last year that the Christian Pulisic hype train really took off. The then 17-year-old phenom began training with Borussia Dortmund’s first team during the winter break and the rest is history.

Another American prospect in the Bundesliga now has the chance to pull off the same feat as Haji Wright has been invited to join Schalke’s first team in Spain for their winter break training camp.

Wright, like Pulisic, starred for the United State under-17 team at the most recent World Cup and joined a top Bundesliga academy.

The Los Angeles native is a big and powerful forward who has drawn attention from scouts since he was very young. In lieu of joining MLS, Wright played a season for the New York Cosmos B team until he turned 18 and was able to legally sign abroad.

He completed his move to Schalke on April, 15th of 2016 and now has been invited to train with the first team during the winter break like Pulisic did. Can the youngster take advantage and earn a place in the matchday squad for the second half of the season like his pal Christian?
